The Shark Creek located in the southernmost part of the island is known for shark fishing. The succulent sea grapes are simply irresistible. The palm fringed beach is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the cool sea breeze. Few areas also have pretty hills. Although this island does not have many tourist attractions but the surrounding Berry Islands has a number of them. Some of these include the Mamma Rhoda Rock, Stirrup Cay Lighthouse, Eel Garden, deep water canyon of Chub Cay, etc. For lodging, there are several excellent Great Harbour Cay vacation homes that offer the best of service and hospitality.
Every year in the month of May an annual sportfishing tournament takes place at the Great Harbour Cay. Fishing enthusiasts from around the world participate in this festival. During this time it becomes difficult to get a Great Harbour Cay accommodation due to the heavy rush of tourists. Shopping is limited as as there are only a few shops that sell locally made arts and crafts, straw hats, and t-shirts. However, when it comes to gastronomic delights, the island has several quality restaurants serving some lip-smacking seafood dishes and other local culinary specialties.
