Chichester’s major landmark is the splendid 11th century old Chichester Cathedral which is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. It houses a shrine of Saint Richard of Chichester and a medieval tomb of a knight and his wife, the inspiration of the poem "An Arundel Tomb", by Philip Larkin. The large window mounted on the floor of the south aisle of the cathedral commands views of the remains of Roman mosaic pavement.
