The Virginia Creeper Trail, a 34 mile long trail that runs through the Blue Ridge Mountains from Whitetop to Abingdon, is a favorite biking route of the tourists. The Leo "Muscle" Sholes Memorial Park, located at a close distance from Damascus is another major site of interest. This park has a nice public pool, fields for playing basketball and softball, and also several spots for picnicking.
