While we have DSL internet, we hope you will leave the modern world behind and enjoy the tranquility of nature and the incredible beauty.We are centrally located near Ojochal, the Terraba river mouth, Tortuga and Ventanas beaches and within a short drive to Uvita, Marino Ballena National Part to the North and Sierpe, and the new airport to the South. If you are looking for that very special, off-the–beaten-path, close enough but not in touristy Uvita, in the cooler hills, the Mango Tree is for you. This jewel of a location is perfectly situated, above the Coronado River, next to a small “Tico” Pueblo, and in the gorgeous foothills of the primary rainforest, with its natural sonorous ambiance and beauty. There is no highway noise, just the river.Ventanas, with its caves, is the closest and most favorite beach. These caves are accessibleo at low tide. Some of the best deep sea fishing, snorkeling, trips to Caño Island, the mangroves, whale and dolphin watching can be found in nearby Sierpe. We always recommend trips out of Sierpe that include all of the above for the same price for just one of these activities out of Uvita. The OSA Peninsula and Corcovado Park are best accessed from Sierpe as well. We are 40 minutes from Sierpe, and two hours from the amazingly beautiful mountains and coffee plantations of San Vito in Southern Costa Rica.Groceries and supplies are readily available in Coronado, to the north in Uvita or to the South (our favorite) in Palmar Norte at the fruit stand. The local Coronado pulperia (little market) offers a delivery service. Some walk to the store in the early morning for supplies. We grow our own pineapples, bananas, papayas and other exotic delicacies for your pleasure and our chickens supply us with fresh eggs daily.We can boast that very close by are some of the best restaurants in the whole country. There are three in nearby Ojochal: Citrus (incredible), Exotica (French)and Ilang Ilang (Indonesian). Besides these, there are two “tipico Tico” restaurants in Coronado (2.8 km), and two wonderful Tilapia farms in Punta Mala (Vergel 4 km) with excellent meals.What also makes this wonderful place so special is the Tico pueblo just below us. For a very reasonable price, you can enjoy a very private horseback ride to several amazing waterfalls; you can go on river/waterfall hikes, swim in the river pools or just mingle with the community. Some visitors have come and offered to teach English in the local school while others have sent college students to participate in the rural development of the community. We do all that we can to interact with the pueblo, to mingle and help them, and in return the interaction we have with them is very helpful and real. I have traveled all my life and I am always looking for that authentic, out of way, off the beaten path experience and location. Security is a feature we feel strongly about. There is always someone on the property, we lock our gate at night times, our dogs are amazing and guard the guests and our thick jungle foliage and hillside further protects us.
