Whether you are looking to curl up by the fire with a good book, do some horseback riding or just want to hike up the ridge into Kananaskis country, you will find what you are looking for at Anchor D. Sit on your porch swing and be serenaded by the coyotes, roast marshmallows at the outdoor firepit, and don’t be surprised if you get a visit from the local moose or elk!
When staying at our cabins you won’t even need to get in your car to reach some of the best horseback riding in North America. Be sure to reserve a guided horseback trail ride for your group – from 2 hours exploring the ridges and meadows around the ranch to a full day of adventure in the mountains, no stay at the cabins is complete without saddling up and experiencing a little of the cowboy way of life from the back of a horse. If you're an outdoors enthusiast we have spectacular trails for hiking, cross country skiing or snowshoeing and an “Olympic caliber” toboggan hill. We're only 5 km. from the Sandy McNabb Recreation Area, which offers ice skating and many other activities, depending on the season. For photographers and artists, the area abounds with opportunities to express your creative side. Nearby there is golfing, mountain biking, fishing, swimming, shopping and restaurants. We're within 1 - 2 hours drive from Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, Remington-Alberta Carriage Museum, Glenbow Museum, Calgary Stampede, and many other attractions.
