The village is 2 miles south of Barnstaple (North Devon’s largest town), enjoys a picturesque setting in the wooded valley of the river Taw, and boasts an ancient parish church dating from 1066 and is recorded in the Domesday Book, also there are several important tombs dating from 16/17th century.
The impressive residence, surrounded by livestock
farms, was owned by a titled family until 1978.
The outbuildings have been converted to eleven
holiday properties, sharing 51/2 acres of grounds
and an excellent range of facilities. Sainsburys 3
mins from Corffe, Tesco 5 mins.
All cottages have electric oven, microwave, hair
dryer, widescreen colour TV with DVD/Video,
Freeview and Sky Movies 1 / Sky Sports 1 and Sky
News channel, dishwasher, filter coffee maker, cot,
stairgate, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, kettle, iron
and ironing board. Duvets and bed linen (but not
for cots) and tea towels supplied. Guests are
requested to bring their own bath and swimming
towels. (Towels can be supplied for an extra
charge if required).
Electricity included in rent.
Portmore Golf Club is two miles from Corffe and
welcomes visitors. Further afield, Exmoor National
Park is 12 miles to the east, and the famous Devon
towns of South Molton, Bideford, Woolacombe
and Ilfracombe are within easy reach. Woolacombe,
Croyde, Saunton and Westward Ho! are known for
their glorious and safe beaches.
There is ample parking with a surveillance camera
at all times.
