We are located on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds at the bottom of Garrowby Hill. This family run enterprise is situated in open countryside and offers two holiday cottages and horse livery stables.
There are plenty of walks in the vicinity of the farm including the Minster Way and some magnificent English country houses to visit. Castle Howard is within half an hours drive and Sledmere is only a short distance away.
The cottages are ideally located for visiting York, the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Coast.
Accommodation
The Grange Farm is an ideal location for your holiday or short break to get away from it all. There are numerous public footpaths in the area, including the Minster Way and other Wolds walks. The quiet country roads with their wide verges are perfect for cycling or horse riding.
Peacefully set at the end of a private drive, the two holiday cottages are situated in the Grange Farm courtyard, with panoramic views over the Wolds towards Garrowby Hill. A painting of Garrowby Hill was painted by David Hockney. There are 2 single storey cottages set on a beautifully maintained working farm, comfortably furnished, each with a sitting out area. There is a village shop and a pub and restaurant a short distance from the cottages (within 1 mile). The town of Pocklington with a larger choice of shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants is just 6 miles away and York is only 13 miles distant.
Rose Cottage
Rose cottage has been converted from a stable block to provide a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The cottage sleeps up to four people and a cot and high chair are available on request. Entrance is to an open plan sitting, dining room and kitchen. A table with four chairs. A double sofa bed and one easy chair for relaxing. A colour TV/DVD Combi and radio/CD/cassette player.The kitchen is fully fitted with an electric cooker, fridge, kettle, microwave. There is one bedroom with a double bed. The beds have duvets and two pillows per person. The bedroom is furnished in pine. There is an integrated smoke alarm for your safety. The bathroom has a modern suite with an electric shower over a bath, wc, washbasin with shaver socket. Gas central heating is fitted throughout the cottage. There is a shared area with a washing machine, ( a tumble dryer by arrangement ) and a vacuum cleaner is available if requested. A covered parking space is provided. There is a small lawned area at the front of the cottages for sitting out on, using the supplied garden furniture, to enjoy the magnificent views and a BBQ for guests use. 1 pet welcome. Our price includes all bedding, towels, heating and electric.
