Self-Catering gem of a cottage in South West France in in the market town of DURAS. A lovely cosy cottage for your holidays in this wonderful area of FRANCE . Duras has a majestic chateau which overlooks rolling green hills dotted with vineyards producing 'renowned' world-class wines, and fields of bright yellow sunflowers whose faces turn during the day following the sun. The cottage can sleep up to four having two bedrooms. One has a double bed and the other a traditional 'Dordogne Honeymoon bed- more like a three -quarters than a double ! There is also a Z bed. There is a large ground floor living room with wood burning stove and a very comfortable three piece suite. There is a large pine farmhouse dining table with six chairs. The floor is tiled in terracotta tiles and a curved wrought iron stairway leads to the first floor. There is a TV to video system with approx 60 pre-recorded films (we've recorded quiet a selection of everything from Comedy to 'an evening's viewing' - so hope you like them ). There is a music centre with 120 original LP's and music tapes. Also a chess set, a number of jigsaws and bookshelves with approx. 300 books. We have an excellent cleaner and all will be ready for you on arrival - clean linen etc and the house will be spotless. We are aware that some 'holiday ' properties can be a bit 'uncared' for - ours isn't.

Staying in this cottage will enable you to experience the 'real' french way of life you are in a lovely old market town with Chateaux and shops, restaurants,pavement cafes etc are within a short stroll- you don't have to drive evrywhere.
The neighbours and shopkeepers are very friendly, kind and helpful. |

Flights are to Bordeaux or Bergerac or to Paris then TGV train to Bordeaux. Hire car beforehand to await you at airport. Duras is about 40 mins from Bergerac driving thru the lovely Dordogne countryside. OR from Bordeaux take Motorway direction Toulouse and exit at Marmande follow signs to DURAS. From UK cross channel ferry if it's a Britanny ferries route we can get you a disocunt pls ask. A full 'Arrival Leaflet' will be sent to you. |
