Located in the village of Pontlevoy, famous for it's Abbey and proximity to Paris (1.5 hours by car), the cottage home is close to Montrichard, Blois, Amboise and many other historical chateaux and wine tasting vineyards of the Tourraine. The village of Pontlevoy hosts various music festivals and houses a branch of the University of Southern Mississippi at the Abbey. Off season, the rent is 850 Euros per month and summer months (June, July & August) is 1,200 Euros per month. Year-long lease reduces rent to 800 Euros per month. The village is small and quaint. There are a few markets on the same street as the house. In the nearby town of Montrichard, there is a proper supermarket/hardware store, a river (The Cher) with a beach and paddle boats, tennis courts etc., movie theatre and a village shopping district. |

Disneyworld France is not too far. The biggest attraction of this region is visiting the Chateaux, and wine cellars of the region. There are Roman ruins, ancient historical cities,and Paris is an hour and a half away by car and train. |

I fly to Paris (CD Airport), rent a car and drive south towards Bordeaux. I exit at Blois (after Orleans, but before Tours). Once in Blois, one crosses the Loire river and heads towards Montrichard. Pontlevoy is one village before (north of) Montrichard. |
