The holiday home at La Roque is the entire ground floor of a century-old winemaker's house. The spacious apartment has its own walled garden with dining table overlooking the river (help yourself to cherries, grapes and figs in season). At the bottom of the garden is your own private river beach. Swim in the sun in the gently flowing waters, then lie in a hammock or picnic at our table under the shade of the trees on the beach.

It is a short walk across the fine old bridge which frames your beach to the relaxed café-restaurant, the Lézard Bleu, an excellent venue for light lunches, afternoon beers or dinners, and from there up the hill to the village (left) with its narrow streets and wonderful views. Tennis courts (we have rackets), a canoe base and wine and vegetable outlets are within 5 minutes' walk. |
