This 17th century Villa is in the medieval town of Coreglia Antelminelli, set in the hills of the Apennines in the beautiful Garfagnana region of Tuscany. The beautifully decorated garden apartment has a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, two communicating double bedrooms and a bathroom.
The large traditional Italian garden and terrace has a lovely private swimming pool. Bordered by the Old Town wall, the beautifully cared for garden has spectacular views across the Apuane Alps. The stone pillars and seating niche in the garden of this medieval home transport you into another time.
Although the house is actually in the village, having been the village nobleman's house, the garden is completely secluded. On a typical day, have breakfast or lunch in one of the interesting parts of the garden, spend the day by the pool savouring the views and dine in one of the three village restaurants before watching the wonderful Tuscan sunset.
The decorative features of the house have been wonderfully preserved and restored by Leonardo Guiddi, whose family have owned the house for hundreds of years. All the rooms have been restored with an eye to historic detail, furnished with interesting Tuscan furniture and decorated using a colour palette from another time.
Only 30 minutes drive from the great historic city of Lucca, the Media valley part of the region of Garfagnana is famous for its panoramic scenery, attractive medieval villages and wholesome food. Surrounded by the Apennine and Apuane Mountains, the village is known to be one of the loveliest villages in Italy. It is an interesting, atmospheric village used as a quiet resort in the hot summer months and known for its fresh mountain air, lovely climate and thick chestnut forest. The village has three restaurants and a number of cafe bars, shops and good amenities.
