TREASURE BEACH VACATION VILLA RENTAL DESCRIPTION : |

Our private beachfront home in Treasure Beach, Jamaica, is in a peaceful, un-touristy fishing village. We invite you to come and share it.
You'll enjoy a wide panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea from our shaded patio. Plantings of tropical fruits and beautiful flowers on our secluded, acre-plus grounds assure your privacy. But you can also visit with fishermen-neighbors we've known for 35 years; they can take you on a fishing or sight-seeing trip, or you can just sit and "reason" (talk) with them.
Enjoy our private 50-foot lap pool, tennis court and croquet court (lit after dinner). Or walk out the sea-gate to a sandy swimming beach. Children can paddle in the reef-protected shallows. You'll be looked after by Miss Vanessa, our housekeeper and (superb!) cook, as if you were family. Off the reef, an undersea world of coral invites snorkeling when the sea is calm.
Billy's Bay village has the serenity and sunshine for which the South Coast of Jamaica is famous -- and warm, calming Caribbean waters. The Santa Cruz mountains, our backdrop, create a dry, semi-arid environment that's ideal for relaxing from cold climates, deadlines and drudgery.
There are four screened, overhead-fanned bedrooms opening on a wide shaded patio that catches the near-constant sea breeze. Inside is a living room and dining area that seats eight. We have a telephone, Internet connection and fax at the house. Just below the patio is a sheltered sunning terrace.

Our staff will shop for you to your tastes, and prepare and serve daily breakfast, lunch and dinner save for one "cook's night out." They'll change linens and towels in mid-week, and do your personal laundry then too. |

Our neighbors are fishermen; you can visit with them as they prepare for a 50-mile trip to "far sea" (hence the title of my memoir, Near A Far sea). Watch for their return in late afternoon, and walk down to photograph them weighing fish and lobster -- and help Miss Joyce bring some home! |

We're 70 miles from Montego Bay, the preferred arrival point. (You can fly into Kingston, but it's an hour farther away.) We'll direct you to a car rental agency that gives our guests a break; or (more likely) to one of several reliable drivers who will meet you at the airport, drive you over (maybe 2 1/4 hours) and fetch you back to the airport. |
