Combining their love of hosting visitors with Karen's Maori heritage, David and Karen Walmsley have established Pounamu Lodge. The architecturally designed home with breathtaking views of Mount Tarawera, features contemporary Maori artworks, and has a style reminiscent of a modern and luxurious Maori Whare. Guest accommodation is very private and has direct access to external decking, spa pool and sauna, and is a short walk from the lakefront and private jetty. Dinner is available and features local cuisine with traditional Maori food incorporated.
