Artist's Caribbean Hideaway

Our Mayorine Cottage is a 130 year-old traditional Caribbean cottage at 600 feet above sea level in the Morningstar area on the island of Nevis. This cottage has been lovingly restored and updated by the owners, who are both artists. The fenced property is accented by mango, sour orange and coconut palms. Shade is plentiful under the mature sandbox and ginnip trees. Behind Mayorine cottage, Mount Nevis rises to 3100 feet. On the spacious porch, the hammock beckons or you can enjoy a sunset view of the ocean.

Inside the living and open plan kitchen area is decorated with a West Indian flair for bright colors. Both main bedrooms are spacious and airy and a loft-type room is great for kids. The Cottage is located in an area of Nevis well loved for the soft warm breezes and spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and Montserrat.

The nearest beach is a 5 minute drive. All beaches on Nevis are accessible as you can drive around the entire island in 45 minutes! The beaches are very diverse and you may find yourself choosing a different type of beach each day depending upon your mood. Or you may wish to hike up the volcano (Mount Nevis) or into the rainforest where you will encounter lush vegetation, possible monkey sightings and other indigenous wildlife.
