ATTRACTIONS :

Fishing provides excellent sport and catches of salmon; trout etc are always recorded on the River Nith and River Cairn.

However if you are more interested in wildfowling or clay pigeon shooting there are local clubs all offering good sport.

This area is well known for it's excellent golf courses and visitors are well catered for. Sailing on the Solway is very popular with Dumfries being only 20 minutes drive from the coast. It is a good base too, for the yachting clubs at Lochmaben and Loch Ken.
