The Adagio retreat is an exquisite vintage house built in the early 1900’s in La Veta Colorado. It is located on the historic Highway Of Legends at 818 S. Oak Street. It has views of the Spanish Peaks and a great front porch to watch the world from. It is a 5-minute walk to the golf course and close to all local food establishments. The Adagio’s warmth and charm allows you to feel as though you have stepped back in time to a casual more relaxed time. This house was historical in that it was the classy Italian house of its time. We offer rooms on daily, weekend and week basis. There is a barbeque on the porch in the back. You can play croquet on the back lawn in an enclosed backyard. There is a kitchen with all of the amenities and a classic bathroom with a claw foot tub.
The La Veta and Curchara area offer lots of activities. In the summer there is golfing, fishing, hiking, biking, and camping. In the winter there is cross country skiing and snow shoeing and sledding. Taking a drive up the scenic Highways of Legends and look for Big Horned Sheep on the valley’s Dike walls.
There is a wonderful massage therapist right next door if you have sore muscles and want to nurture yourself.
Cooking, Art or Quilting classes happen in town on a regular basis.
Artists and writers often retreat here for a couple of weeks. La Veta is a place with a powerful beauty and equally strong legends.
The Adagio can also be used as a conference center. Behind the house is a remodeled adobe building. It is a great space for meeting or if you need more room to sleep people it can sleep an additional 2 people. If you rent house and conference room you can sleep up to 11 people in beds. The house can also be rented for just two people and prices are less expensive.
