You might especially enjoy the privacy of this cabin. The closest house is over 200 feet away and impossible to see through the forest. You are surrounded by a forest on three sides and a river in front. Like your own private park.
This rustic cabin is in the heart of the giant redwoods. It is minutes away from miles of fern-lined trails through these awesome giants.
The cabin is also just ten miles from the pristine beaches of Del Norte County and 20 miles to the start of the famous Oregon Coast Scenic Highway.
If you enjoy fishing, this is the place. The cabin was built as a fishing cabin in the 30's because it sits on one of the best steelhead fishing spots of the Smith River. Last year one of our guests caught 22 steelhead in just one day of fishing below the cabin.
We also have two canoes for guest use. During the summer the Smith is a perfect for water fun--including swimming, canoeing,or just sitting on a sandy beach getting your tan.
The cabin is also a perfect home base for exploring local adventures such as jet boat rides up the Rogue or Klamath Rivers, Ashland summer theater, the Oregon Caves, Prehistoric Dinosaur Park, Trees of Mystery and many many more.
