An entity to Cantwell House Bed & Breakfast, designed by Carole Coleman, the innkeeper, was finished in the fall of 1998. It is a two-story building made to look like a small barn in back of the main house, which would be consistent to the period of the main house dating 1840.
All in one room on the first floor is a living area, an alcove bed, dining area and kitchen. A Futon (sofa bed) is arranged to face the gas log fireplace, a picture window and sliding glass doors. A TV is hidden behind a picture for the romantic partner who doesn’t wasn’t to tell their significant other there is one available. There is a video with the TV and movies located in the bookcase. Reading materials abound on all subjects. The alcove bed is situated so that you can see the TV or for privacy close the curtains. Two children can be accommodated in this area, one in the top bed and the other in the trundle bed. Between the beds are two storage drawers for the convenience of not having to dig through your luggage. Adjacent is a large storage closet for coats, suitcases, etc.
A fully equipped kitchen is located in one corner of the room. At first look though, you’ll wonder where is the refrigerator? Since refrigerators are unsightly designs it is hidden in the closet, though easily accessible by sliding the closet door and leaving it open while in use. It is usually stocked with such things as orange juice, milk, and fruit. In the freezer you might find frozen waffles or pancakes, English muffins or bagels. There is a two-burner stove and a microwave oven. Other kitchen supplies are coffee & tea, (decaf. & reg.) Cocoa, and cereal. Usually a loaf of homemade bread will be left on the counter.
