Sanibel Island is the ideal vacation destination for those wishing to discover one of the last tropical islands in the United States. Sanibel is a lush island, famous for its shelling. And it's a laid-back community of people who all share the common goal of preserving the island's natural environment. The SeaShells of Sanibel Condominium #34 offers charming amenities -- plus tennis, shuffleboard, a heated swimming pool, and access to the beautiful Gulf waters. Outdoor recreation is one of our prime attractions and choices abound including golfing, sailing, fishing, diving, and bicycling and hiking -- with more than 23 miles of trails. There are also local cruises. After a busy day of activities, return to your private condominium unit and relax or start a barbecue. Then swim or take a quiet walk.

The only problem you'll face is that you may not want to leave! My beautiful two-bedroom/two-bath, completely furnished condo offers a fully-equipped kitchen which includes a refrigerator/ice maker, a dishwasher, garbage disposal, a self-cleaning oven, and a microwave oven. There is also a separate dining area. The master bedroom suite has a queen-size bed and its own bathroom. The second bedroom has two twin beds and its own bathroom. The living room has a queen-size sleeper, cable TV, a DVD, and sliding glass doors opening to the lanai. Amenities include central cooling/heat, two color cable TVs, DVDs, and a lanai. Laundry facilities and outdoor grills are on the premises. Sanibel has a year-round population of approximately 5,700 people, but during the winter season it increases to about 18,000. Sanibel is shaped like a boomerang, and is approximately 11 miles long and two miles wide at its widest point.

The 'Ding Darling' National Wildlife Refuge makes up approximately 50% of the island. A five-plus mile nature trail running through the Wildlife Refuge is truly outstanding. Try to see it early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the birds are returning to the estuary. Captiva Island is connected to Sanibel, and is about six miles long and very narrow. The northern third of Captiva is the South Seas Plantation, a beautiful facility covering 330 acres. It has a nine-hole golf course, a deep-water marina, several restaurants, a general store, shopping, and a trolley among other things. Whether you want to watch the sun rise while having breakfast on your screened lanai, or walk the beach and collect shells -- or fall asleep to a cool breeze, my Sunrise/Sunset Condo will be a wonderful home base for your vacation. And Sanibel is like no other place for a family vacation or a romantic getaway.
