Hapuu ii is a rare native Hawaiian tree fern
abundant on this unique property. The house is located in a very private
and quiet gated six acre setting on the edge of a tropical rainforest.
Stay in a comfortable, well constructed, newly restored pig and turkey
hunting cabin! The house dates from earlier times when the area was one
large estate and it was the original cabin. It is ideal for couples or
individuals seeking solitude. Experience the cooler, moist and
refreshing air at 1800\' elevation. View sunsets an the ocean in the
distance from your huge lanai as well as some coastline views all the way
to the lights of Kailua town through massive old trees. The cabin is
surrounded by an ancient forest with centuries old native trees and giant
tree ferns. The flowering trees (red and the more rare yellow and orange)
are home to many colorful native birds. Only two mile down to sea level
and you can enter unique black Pebble Beach for swimming, snorkeling, easy
kayak launching and whale watching (in winter). It is also very
convenient to all the Big Island has to offer. There are many great
beaches nearby offering easy parking or a hike in, but all outstanding and
different. They include Honomalino Beach (black sand), Milolii Beach
Park, Hookena (famous for spinner dolphin sightings), Place of Refuge
National Park (with Hawaiian cultura dlisplays dating from the 1500\'s and
excellent snorkeling) and awesome Kealakekua Bay. All are within a 30
minute drive or less. It is also an easy drive into \"downtown\"
Kailua-Kona for extensive shopping, dining, movies and boat harbor. Or
the Volcanos National Park is an easy day trip away.
