The home features three screened lanais, two bedrooms and two living rooms with sleeper sofas, and also a dining room. The bath is separated so that the loo and sink are separate from the shower/tub. The beds are modern, but the home has many antiques suited to the 150 year age of the home. The kitchen contains a gas stove, refrigerator and double stainless steel sink. There is a CD player and television with lots of chanels as well as games and musical instruments for your amusement. There is some exercise equipment and a pingpong table on the lanai. The location allows easy access to both the East and West sides of the island. Historic Laupahoehoe point is just a mile away with ocean access. To the North,spectacular Waipio valley is 20 minutes drive as well as the quaint town of Honokaa.To the South the town of Honomoo welcomes you on your way to the magic of Akaka falls. This old Hawaiian home is an architectural rarity. Most Hawaiian homes were built to satisfy the needs sugar plantation workers. They were housed in camps where land was a premium so the lots were very small. This home, has acreage and ten foot ceilings; so it was the home of someone with means. We have brought back the old garden full of ginger and ti plants set off by a huge banyan tree with companion banana and coffee trees as well.There is a basketball hoop, volleyball net,croquet set,and pingpong table for fun as well as games and books and cable TV.
We have modernized the home but we have also kept many of its antique touches. In the same spirit, the furniture is modern and comfortable, but there are some real period Hawaiian antiques.
