Tucked away at the base of the Sleeping Giant, in the heart of Kauai, sits Kau Hale Kalama Ohi, a perfect setting for a living human being that is looking for something off the beaten path with charming island character. This setting is a private vacation destination full of natural beauty, and serenity.
Our charming cottage is on six acres of sacred ground with a natural stream on one side and a nature preserve on the other. We can accommodate from one to six beings. It is ideal for individual's, couples, or a small group. The house is two stories, airy, light, and tastefully furnished in "island style," with old Hawaiian accents and modern day comforts. The living/dining area, a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom and one bedroom are downstairs. Another bedroom and a loft space for sleeping, or, just hanging out, are upstairs. You can enjoy picture perfect panoramic views of Kauai's beauty and gorgeous views of Mount Waialeale, and other mountain ranges from all windows, including the one by the bathtub!
Our mission is to support our extraordinary, yet fragile, island environment, so our landscaping and housekeeping products are organic and chemical free. We give special attention to preserving and growing native flora and fauna. We have a rich diversity of bird life including Native Hawaiian Owls and a resplendent garden to enjoy.
