   ISLAND PARK VACATION CABIN RENTAL DESCRIPTION :
 
Yellowstone Park will be open to snowmobiles and snow coaches during the winter of 2008/2009 - this is a great time to book your winter getaway!

A beautiful vacation rental cabin, built in 2003, with attractive rustic furnishings that sleeps 8 comfortably with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The cabin has high speed internet access. It's located 23 miles west of West Yellowstone (the west entrance to Yellowstone Park) in Island Park, Idaho. Mountain Lake Cabin, a half acre property by Henry's Lake, is bordered by Targhee National Forest in a secluded setting with pine trees and aspens all around.

Day trips to Yellowstone and Teton National Parks are well within reach. Snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, fishing, hunting, water skiing, swimming and horseback riding can all be enjoyed close to the cabin.

Up the road is Meadow View Ranch, where you can experience the Old West. During the summer the ranch offers horseback riding and and rodeos with BBQs 3x/wk. Island Park Reservoir is popular for water skiing, swimming and sightseeing. Henry's Lake and surrounding area are famous for fly fishing. Do check out the Upper and Lower Mesa Falls (drive south on Highway 20). Both falls are spectacular.

This home is well supplied - we provide linens, towels, a hair dryer, all paper goods, olive oil as well as herbs and spices for cooking, hand soaps, shower gel, a hair dryer, dishwashing soaps, laundry soap, trash can liners, etc. The comfortability of our guests is important to us!

  ATTRACTIONS :
  You can take very interesting day-trips into Yellowstone Park, which is less than a half hour away. This Park is a wonderland of rivers, lakes, waterfalls, canyons, boiling mud pots, and spouting geysers, and is home to a multitude of elk, deer, moose, bison, wolves, coyotes, and bears. Teton National Park, 92 miles to the southeast, is also well within reach for day trips. During the winter you can snowmobile right out of the driveway and connect with many miles of trails all around Island Park and all the way to West Yellowstone.

The Meadow View Ranch is 5 minutes from the cabin - they offer rodeos 3x/week and BBQ dinners, as well as horse back riding.

  Idaho Falls airport is located 87 miles south of the cabin. Flights to Idaho Falls tend to be cheaper than to Bozeman, MT. We will provide directions from the airport to Mountain Lake Cabin after you have booked with us.
