   ISLAND PARK VACATION CABIN RENTAL DESCRIPTION :
 
Yellowstone Park will be open to snowmobiles and snow coaches during the winter of 2008/2009 - this is a great time to book your winter getaway!

Lakeview Cabin is located 19 miles from West Yellowstone, the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park, in Island Park, Idaho, a mere 20 minute drive. It sits on a hill with truly spectacular views, overlooking Henry's Lake and the surrounding mountains. This 3 BR/2 BA cabin is a great place for a relaxing vacation in beautiful surroundings. It sleeps 6 people comfortably. It is available year round. The 1 acre property, located on a quiet drive, feels secluded and private. High speed internet access is available - just bring your laptop. Pets are not allowed. And no smoking, please.

This vacation home is well supplied - we provide linens, towels, a hair dryer, all paper goods, olive oil as well as herbs and spices for cooking, hand soaps, shower gel, a hair dryer, dishwashing soaps, laundry soap, trash can liners, etc. The comfortability of our guests is important to us!

The large wrap-around deck with seating for 6 offers breathtaking views in all directions. The deck faces south looking out at a beautiful panorama - Henry's Lake with a backdrop of Sawtell Peak and Mt. Jefferson. From the back of the home you'll see Lionhead Mountain and the other towering peaks of the Continental Divide. Enjoy having BBQ dinners on the deck, or just sit and gaze at the lake, the sky and the clouds - you'll feel yourself unwind in the peace and majesty of it all. Henry's Lake is a world renowned fishery - various kinds of trout are abundant in this lake. Boating, hiking, swimming, hunting, biking and wildlife viewing can all be enjoyed close to the cabin.

Harriman State Park, located in Island Park off of Highway 20 as you drive south, is a wildlife refuge of great beauty. You can enjoy horseback riding or hiking in the summer, and cross country skiing in the winter.

  ATTRACTIONS :
  You can take very interesting day trips into Yellowstone Park, which is only 19 miles away. This Park is a wonderland of rivers, lakes, waterfalls, canyons, boiling mud pots and spouting geysers, and is home to a multitude of bison, grizzly and black bears, moose, elk, deer, mountain lions, wolves, and many birds of prey. Teton National Park, only 84 miles to the southeast, is also well within reach for daytrips.

The Mesa Falls Scenic Byway with the Upper and Lower Mesa Falls is a must for anyone visiting Island Park. Drive south on Highway 20 and you'll see a sign on your left.

In the winter you can rent a snowmobile and enjoy hundreds of miles of trails all throughout Island Park and further into Idaho, and all the way to Yellowstone Park.
