Located about an hour from Louisville in northeastern Shelby County is a completely restored, non-smoking, two-story, Poplar timber cabin/lodge. Originally built in the 1830’s, it's total restoration was completed in 1996 and is now sitting just 200 yards from a 60 acre stocked private lake, (no jet skis or skiing allowed) in the middle of our private 500 acre forest and farm, with miles of trails for hiking or mountain biking. The kitchen has a stove, microwave and refrigerator, but no oven. Beds include one king, one full, and one twin, and bedding with pillows and comforters. Rentals for longer than a week include weekly cleaning, if requested. The cabin is situated on the eastern shore of the lake with easy ramp access and a private dock. Minimum Rental is either a weekend or midweek. No daily rentals.
There is a gigantic fireplace on the main floor, and 2 window type air conditioning units on the 2nd (sleeping) floor, plus one large portable heater unit. Normal flush toilet and hot water for sink and shower. Linens are provided, and very well mannered pets are OK, with higher deposit and prior discussion with owner is required. The huge fenced porch can be adapted to hold all but the most athletic dogs.
Also, with full week rentals, boaters with experience can rent the pontoon boat at only $50 per day or $200 for the week.
