Rockport is a charming seaside community on the tip of Cape Ann, the prettiest coastal area in Massachusetts. The town has miles of coastline, beaches, walking trails along the water and through forest, a classic New England harbor with renowned Motif No. 1 at its center, and quaint Bearskin Neck with cafés, restaurants, and an artist community with many galleries.
Although Cape Ann offers a wide variety of year-round activities--beaches, boating, hiking, antiquing, art galleries, restaurants, and brilliant fall foliage to name a few--it can also serve as a base for day trips to neighboring attractions. Historic Salem, Boston, Lexington, and Concord are within easy reach by train or car. The outlet stores of southern New Hampshire and Maine are just over an hour's drive from the house.
