The house is a two story, 1,660 square foot, detached early American Arts & Crafts style wood frame structure in a residential neighborhood on the south side of the City of Charlevoix. The general neighborhood affords easy access to shopping, recreation, and community facilities, including a public Lake Michigan beach. While the neighboring homes have a high degree of refurbishment, our house has had few upgrades over the years. It is a cozy summer vacation home and is not air-conditioned. However, since it is situated on the lakefront, we have found air conditioning to be unnecessary. Floors are hardwood with area rugs. There is no additional charge for the bunkhouse. The bunkhouse is about ten yards from the rear of the house, it is not locked but we consider it safe and have let youngsters sleep there without incident. Upstairs there is one bedroom with a queen mattress, one bedroom with a twin, one bedroom with two singles, and one bedroom with a single futon. Downstairs is a sofabed. The bunkhouse has a single mattress upper bunk and a double lower bunk plus a camp cot if needed. Altogether a dozen people can be accommodated if the sofabed and bunkhouse are used, but the house is more ideally suited for groups of eight to ten, or less.
