'A Boater's Dream Retreat'. The "poorboys" who purchased the house and dock imagined a restored retreat for boaters and non-boaters alike on the shore of Stirling Basin wherein history could be relived, families be entertained, and members be refreshed.
A scallopman, carpenter, and fisherman/welder partnered, contributing their skills, knowledge, and heart to this endeavor. They thoroughly renovated the 1300 square foot Yacht Club, top to bottom, with the exception of the beautiful wide plank flooring. New appliances, ceramic tile, bathroom fixtures, and an amazing bedroom, besides the totally rebulkheaded waterfront, completed the "dream". The work paid off: An ideal slip in safe harbor... the perfect spot to regain your sea-legs, or, at least, give your mate the opportunity to regain theirs.
From the front door of Poorboy's Yacht Club it's a short walk or ride to village art galleries, restaurants, trainstation, bus stop, museums, farm stands, the carousel, wineries, waterfront golf, and all the bait and tackle you could wish for.
