Also close by is Lake Powell and Dixie National Forest, Cedar Mountain with its clear streams and lakes for fishing and hiking. Hundreds of western movies were made in this area and the sets still exist for many of them. There are scenic hiking and ATV trails with acres of country to explore. Located nearby are Indian ruins. Also located near downtown where you'll find quaint shops, museums and restaurants. Don't miss the yearly Western Legends Roundup where Kanab celebrates it's rich Western movie making history. And, just an hour's drive away is either Cedar City's Shakespeare Festival or St. George's Tuachan outdoor amphitheater with it's Broadway productions. Make Kanab your home base.
