Open mid-May thru mid-October by guided tour. Built in 1865, this Second Empire "summer cottage," is one of the finest Victorian mansions in New England. It was home to two Vermont Governors, and its 35 rooms retain many original furnishings. The grounds include a scale-model playhouse, original carriage barn with carriages, gardens, and a Victorian grapery. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1972.
Visit the car exhibit, or shop in the quirky convenience store and gift shop for automobile memorabilia. Look for the special-interest car Cruise-Ins during summer.....all just across from the Bennington Motor Inn!
