As the house is located on a peninsula which juts out into Assateague Bay, there is no thru traffic thus insuring that your stay is truly peaceful ! Our modern, spacious house located in Bird Sanctuary is nestled in the pines, just one block from Assateague Bay.
The house is 5' off of the ground, on pilings giving you the feeling that you are in a "tree house."
In 2000, several improvements were done to the house. Some of them are definitely not even visible but they are the most costly. A list of them includes siding, enclosing the open bottom of the house, a new back deck, etc.
The house is centrally air-conditioned, with ceiling fans in both living room and kitchen.
The left wing of the house has cathedral ceilings, creating a spacious airy feeling. There is a fire place at the end of the living room.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a large dishwasher, refrigerator-freezer, gas stove, microwave oven, blender, toaster, coffee maker - and enough dishes, pots and pans, even a crab steamer - to make your life easy and more pleasant !!
The mid section of the house - the dining room, has one wall of glass - opening to a deck nestled in the woods and facing Assateague Island.
The house is furnished with 2 queen size beds (Bm and B1), 2 twin size bunk and 1 twin size free standing bed (B2) and a double fouton (B3). B3 is also a den, play room - with a large blackboard - so take some color chalk ! The house accomodates 8 people MAXIMUM.
There is also an outside shower - for de-sanding !
