Being that this is our personal vacation property, you will find a warm and inviting atmosphere loaded with many personal extras you won't typically find in a standard rental property.
Birch Bay is known for its warm shallow waters, long sandy beaches, and a tide that seems to go out forever. It is also popular for clam digging and crabbing. The Bay is a wonderful spot for a quiet weekend getaway in the off-season, a chance to show your stuff at the New Years Polar Bear Swim, enter a sandcastle building contest, host a family reunion,or just lie on the beach and read a book. It is a favorite place for bicycling with easy navigation and beautiful scenery.
Birch Bay is located in the Northwest corner of Washington State. It is about 20 miles north of Bellingham and 100 miles north of Seattle, just off I-5. Vancouver, British Columbia is a mere 40 miles to the north. Birch Bay has the warmest waters north of California and is definitely worth a visit. Being in the northern portion of the Banana Belt, Birch Bay has approximately 25% less rain than Bellingham.
Just 12 miles to the east is the quaint town of Lynden, where berries are grown to ship all over the country, and festivals are celebrated around the harvest time. It is also home to the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds and has wonderful shopping on main street.
Ferndale is located about 10 miles to the south were you can try your luck in the casino. Bellingham is just a few more miles south and has everything from skiing to fishing. Vancuver BC is less than 1 hour away, where you can stroll around Stanley Park or shop at Granville Island.
