This is a comfortably converted stone built barn close to the old farmhouse of Llwyngloddaeth. The location, 700ft above the Mawddach estuary is one of the loveliest in Wales; some say in Europe. Towards the southern end of the Snowdonia National Park, it is ideally placed for every kind of holiday. Families find it a perfect base away from the noise of Barmouth but only one and a half miles from the beach. Children love playing in the garden, climbing and scrambling over the knoll adjacent to The Barn, the top of which is one of the best vantage points in the whole area with views of Cader and almost the entire estuary. Adults sit up there for hrs at a time just unwinding and watching the changing scene as the tide comes and goes and the colours change with the movement of the sun. This part of Wales is very quiet in the hills and you can often walk for hours without meeting anyone else. But if walking is not for you we are centrally placed to explore North Wales and Mid Wales by car. There is more than enough to see and do in all kinds of weather within easy range of a day excursion. The Barn is built into the side of the knoll, so there is an outside door at the ground floor level and another onto the knoll from the 1st floor. There is an open plan living area with kitchen, dining and lounge area, and 3 bedrooms with a cot. We provide full linen including towels(not beach towels). Power, heating and logs for the wood burner are included in the price. It is very well equipped with all the extras you may need to make your stay enjoyable including dishwasher, microwave, Sky television radio and video, and parking for 2 cars. This really is a unique property with guests returning every year. The Barn has become almost a 2nd home to some of them with its own atmosphere, unlike a conventional cottage. Some liken it to a ski lodge. If you want a comfortable, peaceful base for a holiday of any kind in Wales, this is it.
