The cottage from adjacent woods.................... October sunset from balcony - photo by Charmaine Hill.relaxing on a timber balcony high in the trees, above fields, watching sailing boats on the estuary, beyond which lies the sea fringed by hills and mountains. Include the sun setting over this scene, some bird song, and maybe a glass of local red wine to hand…… this could be a description of your stay at Tree Tops / Pen y Coed in Snowdonia, Wales.
Beautiful walks start at your front door in this area known as Ardudwy in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Lanes and footpaths lead down to the coast or inland rise towards the peaks of the Rhinog Mountains. The Cambrian Coast railway stops at Pensarn less than half a mile away and cycle routes are well sign posted. There is one road along the coast and no other routes into the area.
This part of Wales is referred to as ‘secret Snowdonia’ as its miles of beaches are seldom busy and the hill and mountain tracks can be enjoyed in solitude for much of the time.
The property has just been completely refurbished and is furnished to a contemporary theme.
The accommodation is ideal for a couple, although the sofa bed is suitable for an extra adult or two small children. The kitchen ( incl. cooker, microwave, washer/drier, fridge etc), dining and living area ( incl. sofa bed, TV, radio) is upstairs with access to the balcony (table and chairs). Downstairs is one double bedroom, toilet and shower room, with access to the private garden. Parking is in front of the house, alongside the lane to the village of Llanbedr past woods and fields. A gas fired boiler heats the water and powers the central heating.
