What is a vacation rental?

A vacation rental is a home away from home. There are many types of properties that can be rented as a vacation rental including homes, condos, villas, apartments, chalets, cottages and cabins among others. Most vacation rentals include amenities you would find in a home.

What is a vacation rental owner?

Property owners and managers are small business owners and companies who own or manage properties and rent them on a short term basis to travelers. AlwaysOnVacation Traveler Protection is available for all bookings made by using AlwaysOnVacation. Click here to learn more!

How do I book a vacation rental?

You have two ways to book your vacation rental:

  1. Book online. If a property has the blue “Book It Now!” button on the property page, book the rental. The property owner will confirm your reservation within 24 hours of your submitting a booking request.
  2. Book directly with the property owner or manager. Message a few property owners using the “Contact the Owner” rental inquiry form. When you find a property you would like to book, reserve the property and arrange for payment directly with the property owner. Then make sure to register your reservation with AlwaysOnVacation to qualify for our $1000 in Direct Payment Traveler Protection at no cost.

How do I cancel or change my reservation?

AlwaysOnVacation is unable to help you with reservations booked directly with property owners or managers. Please contact the owner directly to cancel or change a reservation made directly with a property owner or manager.
For reservations made using the AlwaysOnVacation Booking System, refer to your reservation receipt for a link to your reservation on AlwaysOnVacation, or login to AlwaysOnVacation as a registered traveler and select the “My Trips” tab.

What if there is an issue with my vacation rental?

We suggest you contact the owner as soon as a problem arises during your stay. Don’t wait until afterwards. Be sure to have a phone number to contact the owner in case there is an issue. To travel with peace of mind, click here to learn more about AlwaysOnVacation Traveler Protection.
