About Goa

Located on the west coast of India, Goa is a vacationer’s paradise. It is bordered by the state of Maharashtra in the north, Karnataka in the east and south, and Arabian Sea in the west. A large number of tourists visit Goa throughout the year because of its pristine beaches, stunning combination of Indian, Portuguese, and Mughal architecture, and pilgrimage places. The biodiversity in Goa is one of its kinds. The state is rich in flora and fauna adding to the natural beauty of the place. Book any one of the Goa holiday rentals and enjoy the scenic vista right from your balcony.

Panaji, the capital city, is worth a visit. You will come across the Church Square, 16th century Idalcao palace, Mahalaxmi Temple, and the Chapel of St. Sebastian in this city. Considered the queen of all beaches, the Calangute Beach is dotted with innumerable restaurants, spots for adventure sports, night markets, and also places where yoga sessions take place. In case you are coming from Mapusa, you will get to see St. Alex church whose white dome is mention worthy. Also, on a visit to Candolim Beach, you will find the Church of St. Lawrence that offers a panoramic view of the surrounding. For a hospitable stay, search for various Goa holiday villas that are spread throughout the state.

The staple diet of this state is rice and fish curry. Especially mention worthy are its fish recipes. The pork dishes like Xacuti, Vindaloo, and Sorpotel are also very popular. Those who give shopping a top priority on their itinerary can look out for local handicrafts, shell work, brassware, bamboo made items, crochet, terracotta items, etc. If you reserve Goa holiday homes in February, then you will get to see one of the best pictures of the place when the much awaited Goa Carnival is held with a great pomp and grandeur.
