Famous Drive to Hana |

Drive the slow 42 mile road (from Paia) to Hana. The road is famous for its lush forest and spectacular scenery. It is easily an all day affair. Be sure to find a CD or cassette tour guide that you can listen to while driving. It will bring the rich history of the area to life. |

1790 Lava Flow |

| |
|
To see this spectacular lava flow, the last one on Maui, you need to drive south of Kihei pass Wailea and Makena to the end of the paved road. Follow the gravel road a short distance and you will see the lava flow. Ask directions from a kind local and you may also be able to find a secret snorkeling bay, about a mile from the road through the lava forest. Don’t attempt the hike without a good supply of water! |
