The village is 20 minutes from the historical and picturesque town of Patzcuaro, and is centered between Guadalajara to the West and Mexico City to the Northeast, approximately 3-1/2 hours by toll road from both cities and the Pacific Coast resorts of Ixtapa/ Zihuatanejo. The colonial city of Morelia, capital of the state of Michoacán and a world heritage landmark is only 45 minutes away. This is an ideal place for use as a home base to for a short stay explore the surroundings and come home to the tranquility of a country cottage or for a long stay for an artist, writer, or retiree.
