Historical tours of forts dating to the days of the French and Indian Wars.Great Camps, built during the gilded age, are open with guided tours. Boat rides on restored boats are available seven days a week. Five golf courses are just minutes away. Gift shops, antique stores, and outlet malls await your credit card's swipe. Lake George, with all its attractions, lakeside activities, and cultural events, is less than 30 minutes away.The beauty of the Adirondack Mountain Fall Foliage Season is second to none on our Earth. The vistas along our highways, lakes and mountainsides are sure to convince you to make this a yearly sojourn. The Gore Mountain Oktoberfest is one of the highlights of the fall. The weekend starts with a parade through the historic village of North Creek, then moves to the ski area for German music, food, and dancing.The crafts fair, gondola ride to the top of the mountain, and vendors demonstration all add to a great Columbus Day weekend. Float trips down are Hudson River are not nearly as challenging as in the spring, but the beauty of the colorful fall foliage only adds to this splendid time of the year. Golfing, biking, hiking and fishing are popular activities for all ages.Gore Mountain Ski Area, the best value in the East (Ski Magazine) is just one long mile away. 12 lifts distribute skiers to 88 downhill trails and 8 Cross Country/Snowshoe trails and a vertical drop of 2,300 feet. Best known for their long cruising intermediate terrain, Gore Mountain. has added several double black diamonds, such as The Rumor . Our vacation cottage in Canandaigua, Canada is a beautiful 3 story home, new in 2007, available for your comfort and enjoyment. Bring your extended family, your friends, your business or retreat group; your out of town weddings guests. The Manor House has sleeping accommodations for up to 25 guests.Spacious Bedrooms (N.B. It is possible to separate an area of the house for a group of up to 7 during fall, winter and spring, with a minimum two night stay.) Summer requires full house rental for a minimum of a week.The smoke free Manor House has bedrooms and baths on all three levels. In addition, there are two fully equipped kitchens with two indoor eating areas, a patio off the lower level for outdoor eating, and two sitting areas, The lower level is handicap accessible.PatioRelax on the lawn or patio and enjoy the breeze off Canandaigua Lake on a hot summer day, while others take a swim or a canoe ride. (A launch for small craft is available.) There is plenty of room for lawn games (bocce, badminton, soccer, etc) or a pickup basketball game. Air hockey can entertain the family or friends when rain keeps you inside, as well as library books, cards, board games, a poker table, and an exercise room. Hiking the streets of Crystal Beach, or riding bikes (several available) through the community is energizing and entertaining. Experience all of this without leaving Cottage City and the Manor House.

Should you wish to spend time in Manhattan (75 miles), the Jittney to the city is literally just minutes away. (You may also elect to go by train.)This newly refurbished home (also new to the rental market) offers a sense of privacy and comfort - not always so easily found these days; it is truly conducive to the complete relaxation you seek (and deserve) during your vacation time in the Hamptons and at the beach. The house itself is situated on a handsomely landscaped (Marder's to the rescue!), oversized lot filled with lovingly selected plants which bloom three seasons of the year. These blend beautifully with the forrested back section of the property. (There is plenty of room for children, & pups, to run and play and the area is completely fenced). A hammock, a Koi stocked pond and a delicious, chuckling waterfall (Bring your mat! There's a pad, pondside, for meditation, yoga, pilates), manicured lawn, and a 20’ x 40’ heated pool -- defined by a spacious, 360 degree deck -- separate the wooded area from the home.The large, multi-million dollar residences located somewhat closeby do not intrude upon your privacy ~ there is absolutely no feel of gated community or neighborhood . Off street parking is a plus.
