The Royal Dalhousie was originally built to produce millstones for the flour mills throughout Quebec. As time passed the building was transformed into the Chinic Hardware store and served the local community of Quebec. Vaults that once kept the company documents have been preserved and incorporated into the decor of this historic building. In 1999 Gregoire Biron stood outside a worn-out building and looking beyond the tired building said, we can bring this one back to life . Ten years later the Royal Dalhousie is a testimony to the Biron family's vision of restoring historic buildings. When asked why the units are so large his reply was, there are hotels with large suites throughout the world, I want to make something that would create a Wow factor when people walked into our units for the first time . With comments left in the guest books of each unit I think we can say, mission accomplished!

Sanctuary at Redfish is a gated 64 unit, 3 story complex that does not ‘overwhelm’ the amenities provided, even at peak periods (unlike high rise apartment complexes).A shuttle boat service is provided (Shuttle service runs from March 1st through the end of October) for a quick trip across Big Redfish Lake to our private white sands beach on the Gulf (or paddle across the lake to our private beach in one of the common kayaks, canoes or row boat). An umbrella and two chairs will be set up daily on the beach for our guests (included in the rate). Alternatively, a short 5 minute walk to a private boardwalk also delivers you over the dunes onto the beach - (or back to the condo after an evening beach stroll).WHY SANCTUARY AT REDFISH? The huge pool area (4 pools)is unique and wonderful. We have a fabulous private beach (never overcrowded) which is located far away from other private or public beaches. They were families who sought a better life while a severe economic crisis was raging. In their new home, the courageous pioneers had to work hard to develop the village we enjoy today. In 1938, the pioneers of Rémigny built the parsonage next to the future site of their church, Saint-Urbain Rémigny.The Catholic Church of Saint-Urbain Rémigny was built between 1941 and 1946 by the parishioners. It was built with pink granite in the style Dom Bello, no columns inside, with a polygonal arc. The concept of the church was created by Adrian Dufresne. This is the only church in the region of Abitibi-Témiscamingue with these characteristics. The stained glass windows adorn the interior are a gift from the residents of Joliette.
