The Carlson Homestead House was built by Anders Carlson, a Swedish immigrant homesteader in 1883.Through the years each generation has expanded the updated the house. Today it is a modern home with all the amenities. The home is located in South Morrow county on the Carlson homestead property now operated by Clint and Sarah Carlson.It is situated in a valley surrounded by wheat fields, bunch grass and sage brush.It is a short drive to the Blue Mountains, The John Day River, Willow Creek Reservoir,the Columbia River,The Pendleton Roundup and many more attractions. You are welcome to come and use the house as a base to go to the ORV park in the Blue mountains,Hunt at the local shooting preserves,Hunt wild game where permitted,Fish the local creeks and rivers, attend rodeos and local sporting events. During farming season you may even be able to drive a tractor or combine! Please come and enjoy our accommodations.The Carlson Homestead house is available now for spring and summer. Fishing mountain streams or lakes, ATV UTV, ORV park, cyclist, motorcycle enthusiasts. The house is also great for a vacation get away or family reunion. Welcome to 22 Klamath Lane! Our custom-built, 1800-square-foot home is nicely furnished with fabulous amenities, rich oak, and quality throughout. It quickly becomes your home-away-from-home. Nestled among towering ponderosa pines on a serene, wooded, private street, you are a short walk to the Deschutes River and one-half block from the seventh fairway of the Woodlands Golf Course. A bike path runs outside the back door for a ten-minute bike ride to the Village Mall, Sunriver Lodge, and the new Sage Springs Health Club and Spa. Our home is quiet and serene, yet close to all the activities for which Sunriver is famous. Our home was quality-constructed with a reverse-living, split-level design with a comfortable open floor plan that is well-suited for a couple or a larger clan. The master suite, full bath, living room, dining, and kitchen are on the light and spacious main floor. Enjoy the TV, VCR, and private deck in the master suite, while treating yourself to the most restful nights imagined on our custom-made Restonic king-size bed. In the great room, a rare Ochoco stone hearth graces the gas fireplace. A wall of sliding glass doors beckon you out to the wrap-around deck where you will enjoy watching deer graze as you barbecue or sunbathe. A large oak dining table seats eight for dinner, and a bar off the well-designed and well-equipped kitchen seats two more. A queen-size sofa bed, large cable TV, DVD/VCR, CD player, stereo, games, and books complement the living area. Downstairs you will find a queen-size bed in the second bedroom and two sturdy bunkbeds in the third bedroom - perfect for the kids. You'll love this one of a kind house, located in a one of a kind spot! The 4000 sq. ft. home is located in a gated subdivision on the Deschutes River. The back looks out at the river and across to the river trail where bikers and hikers pass by throughout the day. With no houses across the river, it feels like you're out in the country, but you're right in town!The main level is mostly great room with huge picture windows looking out to the river. The spacious kitchen with seating at the marble island is a natural gathering spot - and cooks will love the fully equipped kitchen with high end appliances including a 6 burner gas cooktop. The other side of the great room is the living area which has a gas fireplace and 47' HD TV with surround sound. Stepping outside onto the main deck, you will find yourself looking down on one of the prettiest sections of the Deschutes River. This is a fabulous place to spend the evenings. The sun sets early behind Awbrey Butte so there is a long twilight. Also on the main level is a full bathroom and an office/bedroom with a queen size bed.Upstairs are two bedrooms. One is a nice sized bedroom with a queen bed and its own full bath. The other is the master. It's very spacious with a king bed, sitting area, and a huge private deck out over the roof. The bathroom is over the top with dual sinks, walk-in shower, jetted bath, and a washer and dryer. Go downstairs to the lower level and you'll find yourself in the lounge. It has a full size pool table, pub table and chairs, couches, and great views of the river. Off the lounge there is a spacious bedroom with a terrific river view and a queen size bed. There is also a huge bunk room with two sets of bunkbeds and a queen bed. Further back you'll find a theater with a 100' screen and high quality surround sound. Not into movies? It's also great for gaming. Rounding out the bottom level are two full bathrooms. The best part of the basement level is the covered granite patio overlooking the river. Watch the wildlife while you enjoy the shade on a warm summer day; or soak in the hot tub after skiing in the winter.This house is the culmination of years of dreaming, planning, work, and a little luck. A friend found the lot while visiting one of the neighbors. I couldn't believe that there was a lot on the river that was so conveniently located yet didn't even feel like it was in town. After considering a partnership with him to do a spec home, my wife and I decided to buy it for ourselves. Four years and many plans later, we finally started building. We finally moved in February of 2010. Unfortunately, my wife passed away from cancer. Suddenly I found myself with this huge house that is too much for my son and me. Since I love this house too much to sell, I decided to finish off the basement and make it a vacation rental so others can enjoy it. Of course, I also like that I can come use it still.
