Chlorakas is a typical Cypriot Village. Walking through the old streets one can see many older ladies in their traditional dressmaking lace and older men sat outside the coffee houses discussing, debating or playing backgammon or cards. The village houses and bungalows tell an ancient story. The mix of perfumes that exude from the plants and trees and the sight of fresh fruit like oranges, lemons, limes and other fruits delight the senses. The splendid Greek Orthodox Church is open to visitors. If you are fortunate enough to come across a wedding taking place it is acceptable to go in and watch the incredible ceremony.Intermingled but not detracting from it, one can find all the modern essentials for living. Kiosks, shops, hairdressers, banks and the like. There is a good sized well stocked supermarket with it's own coffee shop within, which sells a wide variety of Traditional cakes and pastries. Immediately opposite is a Cypriot Express supermarket that sells all things Greek, so the combination of the two gives plenty of choice on the door step. Chlorakas has several Bars, Cafe's and a very popular Creperie. It also has one of the best Fish Bar and Take away's. Internet Cafe's and the very impressive 'Famagusta Tavern' where local dishes such as Stifado, Lasagne, can be enjoyed.Walking down hill from Ikaria Village, one soon meets the main 'Tomb of the Kings Road' which leads to Paphos Harbour in one direction and Coral Bay in the other.
