The apartment is situated in a quiet courtyard, off a lively street in a multi-ethnic neighbourhood at the base of Montmartre. The complex of apartments, of different periods from early 19th to mid 20th century, creates a village atmosphere. Being there is the quintessential Parisian living experience.The sights of Paris and access to transport for exploring beyond Paris are within easy reach. It is convenient to transport with the Metro (La Fourche) and Buses 31, 54, 74 and 81 almost at the doorstep and Place de Clichy, a transport hub, with numerous other bus lines, a taxi rank and Metro nearby. There is information about transport at the apartment and available on line. I have many tour books and maps available for use in the apartment and I give a guide for getting to places that will interest you.There is a bakery - and a bar - at the entrance to the courtyard. Nearby is a standard Parisian shopping street, with butchers, bakers, traiteurs (delicatessens), cheese shops, wine shops, florists, fishmongers, greengrocers, chocolate shops and the supermarkets Carrefour and Leader Price. Even closer are the supermarkets Monoprix, Franprix and Eds, and Picard, for fabulous frozen food. There are interesting shops in the surrounding neighbourhood and numbers of markets, open air and covered, within a few blocks. Among the nearby restaurants are Wepler (a traditional brasserie specializing in sea food), Melrose and Bofinger at Place de Clichy, Tete de Goinfre and Cave de Cochon on rue Jacquemont and le Perroquet Vert on rue Cavalotti nearby. There are other interesting restaurants on rue Legendre and rue des Dames. There is information about restaurants in the apartment. Hello, or Bonjour !Welcome to my apartment in the 9th arrondissement of Paris jus tat the bottom of Montmartre!It is very well located to enjoy your stay in the « City of lights » : 15 minutes walk from the Sacré-Cœur Basilica of Montmartre, from the Grands Magasins and the luxurious Galeries Lafayette ; 5 minutes walk from the word famous Moulin Rouge and the very parisian Place Saint-Georges. My street, also called « The street of the theatres », is a lively one with its own lounges, its bars, its small cafés, its typical restaurants, and a step away from the markets of Rue Lepic and Rue des Martyrs.Well served by public transports via the Métro line 2 which connects the Champs Elysées to the well known cimetery of Père Lachaise with all its celebrities ; well served by the line 12 which connects the church of la Madeleine, Montparnasse area, Place de la Concorde nearby the very French style Jardin des Tuileries, as well as the Porte de Versailles which gathers together the main parisian shows and congresses.
