Nassau Sportfishing Kingfish
Tournament
The Nassau Sportfishing Kingfish Tournament
of Champions takes place at the marina downtown in
Fernandina Beach. The 3rd largest fishing tournament on the
Southern Kingfish Association tournament trail, it draws
many participants and spectators. This 4-day event includes
a fish fry, community dinner, music, festivities and fishing
fun. Major cash awards are given to the top
angler.
The Les DeMerle Amelia Island
Jazz Festival
The Les DeMerle Amelia Island Jazz Festival presents excellent jazz artists in a wide variety of styles
at various venues. Highlights include Evening Concerts, a
Patron's Party, a Big Band Bash and daytime programs such as
Jazz For Kids, Jazz In The Schools, Jazz For Seniors and
Jazz For Everyone/Drums The Heartbeat Of Jazz. An inspiring
Jazz/Gospel Sunday Brunch is held. The event is open to the
public.
Amelia Island Concours
d’Elegance
Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance is one of
the nation's largest classic car shows, featuring over 230
rare cars and motorcycles from private collections
nationwide. Held on the grounds of The Ritz-Carlton and the
Golf Club of Amelia Island at Summer Beach, this car show is
a must-see for everyone.
Eight Flags Shrimp
Festival
Annually the 1st weekend in May, Fernandina
Beach, the birthplace of the modern commercial shrimping
industry early in the 20th century, hosts the Eight Flags
Shrimp Festival. The festival features a pirate parade, a
pirate invasion, a fireworks display, a 5K Run, an arts and
crafts show, an antiques and collectibles show, a family fun
zone, a boat parade and, of course, shrimp.
