 Best Times to Visit Aspen

If you don't mind the unpredictable weather of Colorado, then spring and fall are the best seasons to visit Aspen. It is the time when rates are low and crowds are less. Spring offers excellent opportunity to enjoy outdoors with innumerable recreation activities such as fishing, river rafting on snow and viewing wildlife and birds. In the fall, the environs look beautiful as the aspen trees cover the mountains with their gold like leaves. In summers, starting in late June or July, days are generally warm. The maximum temperatures go up to 80°F during day time, though the night time temperatures easily come down to 40°F or 50°F. You can face thunderstorms in the afternoon that are quite usual to happen on the high peaks. Winter comes around November month and one can see thick snow by December. Temperatures in winter reach freezing point during the days and at night it can get as low as -60° F.

To drive into Aspen, you should drive from Aspen Airport and turn right on Highway 82 in West. The Eagle County Regional Airport is located 70 miles from Aspen, and is served by six airlines. You can avail the nonstop flight service from 13 cities. The Colorado Mountain Express offers shuttle service that connects Aspen, Denver, Summit County, Vail, Steamboat Springs and other areas.
