Get a glimpse into this region’s natural and cultural history at the nationally acclaimed High Desert Museum. Travel back into time as the main building immerses you in its narration of the Western history. This museum houses the country’s largest collection of aboriginal artifacts from a single tribe. Discover living small and nearly extinct animals of the region such as pallid bats, kangaroo rats, collared lizards at the Desertarium. Come face-to-face with river otters, porcupines, mustangs, grey fox and birds of prey at the outdoor exhibits. The museum is open 9 AM to 5 PM daily, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. The general admission pass (age 13 – 64) is $12; for senior citizens (65+) $11; for children (5 – 12) $7 and the entrance is free for kids younger than 4. There is no fee charged for Wheelchair Rental, however a fee of $3 is levied for stroller rental.
