Golfing in Bethany Beach |
For golf enthusiasts, there is Salt Pond Golf Club, located in Bethany Beach. It is an 18-hole golf course that is open to the public. Founded in 1992, the club has a food and beverage space as well. It offers a range of par 3 and 4 courses, for beginners as well as intermediaries. Course fees differ during different seasons of the year and are on the higher side during May to October.
A few miles away, in Fenwick Island you can try the Viking Golf Theme Park, which is an exciting miniature golf option. The course features a large two-headed dragon and a series of Viking related obstacles. There are several choices for golf at Rehoboth Beach. Golf Park at Rehoboth Beach, Creekside Course is a 27-hole 58-par course that is open to the public. Built in 1999, with many rolling mounds, the course is excellent for novices.
King’s Creek Country Club is an 18-hole course, located just a mile away from the beach. Water hazards come into play on four holes, since there are five ponds. The course has a rolling terrain and the fairways are narrow. The club however, is closed to guests. Bethany Beach abounds in local fairs and festivals. Craft festivals, art events, music concerts, parades, workshops, theater events, are all the order of the day. So there is never a dull moment during your vacation. Bethany Beach Bandstand is a popular venue for several festivals. The Bandstand is located at the eastern end of Garfield Parkway on the boardwalk. During the summer season, it hosts a wide variety of musical acts and entertainment for residents and visitors. Entry to these events is always free and everyone is invited to enjoy them. All performances at the Bandstand begin at 7:30 PM unless notified otherwise.
The scheduled dates for the children's theater this year is July 25 and August 15. The 2nd Annual Seaside Crafts Show, sponsored by Bethany Beach Cultural and Historic Affairs Committee, will be held on Bethany Beach Boardwalk in June this year. You can celebrate the National Trails Day in June by hitting the nature trails offered by state parks. There are horse-riding trails as well.
Those keen on surf fishing can plan to be a part of any two of the surf fishing tournaments, sponsored by Bethany-Fenwick Chamber of Commerce, held in early May and early October each year. The Fourth July Parade and Fireworks always attracts many visitors and is a popular event. This year, a horseshoe contest will also be held at the conclusion of the festival.
The 28th Annual Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival will be held in September this year. The event will be held on the boardwalk and the adjacent street. More than 100 fine artists and crafters will showcase and sell their work against a backdrop of sun, sand and surf. There will also be live music and a silent auction on the occasion. |
