    Hiking
    Cannon Beach is a paradise for hikers. From unrivaled splendor of Ecola State Park to rugged trail ascending to Saddle Mountain, Cannon Beach offers interesting hiking with well distinguished trails and postcard perfect scenes at each twist and turn. For hikers, there are various trails in the water through thick forests of conifer trees in Ecola State Park. The point where from you can enjoy excellent view is Ecola Point, a picnic area. The whole panorama of Cannon Beach, Haystack Rock and Coast Range is completely enjoyable. The two mile trail gets connected from Ecola point to the Indian Beach shaped like horseshoe and a six mile trail leading towards Tillamook Head. The Short Sands Beach makes for 30 minute hiking from the north that starts with about ten miles in the south of Cannon Beach. As you move forward, it will take you to a rain forest with a creek that goes on to meet in ocean. Other than these, you can also try Saddle Mountain, Tillamook Head trail, Cape Falcon trail, Arch Cape, Neahkahnie Mountain trail, Cape Lookout Trail.

Enjoy great views from Neahkahnie viewpoint for Pelagic Birds, Peregrine Falcons, Bald Eagles and Whales. The Nehalem Bay State Park is home for many birds living in the brush and seasonal ponds. Watch out for Great Blue Herons, Northern Harriers, sparrows, warblers, etc.
