| A favorite among the visitors, especially the kids, is the horseback ride on the beach. It’s a breathtaking experience to ride into and watch the beach sunset on a horse. Salina Park is the place for this popular outdoor activity. There are a number of companies, who bring fleets of well-trained horses and offer rides. The price depends on the duration of the ride and the type of horse. |

| While boating your way through the crystal and calm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, keep a lookout for redfish, mullets, and even schools of bait. Take a trip to Black’s Island, situated in the middle of the bay, to spot sea turtles and bottle-nosed dolphins. St. Joseph Peninsula State Park and Salina Park both have boating facilities. Boating ramps are also provided in the Peninsula State Park. Canoes, kayaks, pontoon boats and other water vehicles can be rented outside the Peninsula State Park. Motorized boats can be booked at the Eagle Harbor if you prefer to enjoy boating without driving the craft. A number of renting shops are open the year round in the Cape San Blas area. They even provide fishing equipment and tools at varied rates. |

| Aquatic life thrives in the clear water in this area. Both the Bay and the Gulf of Mexico make for excellent fishing areas. What add to the charm of this place are ample opportunities not just for fishing but, trying your hand at catching a crab or scalloping as well. Do keep certain points in mind. The local residents can fish without a license but visitors need a license in most cases. Regulations can change frequently, so be sure to get a copy of the local area regulations. In addition, for scalloping, a fishing license and dive flags are essential. The best time of the year to enjoy a good scallop catch is in the months between July and September, when they are harvested. Make a quick check on what type of fish can be caught the year around and what is seasonal to avoid disappointment. |

| Bird watching is a common outdoor activity in the Florida Panhandle and can be enjoyed in Cape San Blas from fall to spring. Black bellied plover, snowy plover, geese, royal tern, American kestrel, are some of the birds you can observe while on a bird watching expedition. Birds can attract your attention in any part of the Cape. However, if you specifically want to spot a certain type of bird, St. Joseph Park would be the place to go. Early morning is a good time for this activity. |
