| When booking your vacation home in Carlsbad, you may be required to make an advance payment of 50% at time of booking. A cleaning fee and a security deposit may be charged by some of the vacation rentals. The rates are cheaper during the off-season which extends from January till May for most of the properties. Daily/Weekly/Monthly rates are available; however, some of the properties have a stipulated minimum period of stay. Corporate rates against bulk bookings may also be availed of and these will be lower than the regular rents. The cancellation procedure may vary and you would need to check with the vacation rental owner. |

Getting To and Around Carlsbad |
Carlsbad is about an hour’s drive south of Anaheim, a 40 minute drive north of downtown San Diego and within an hour’s drive of Riverside and the desert communities. Carlsbad’s McClellan Palomar Airport offers full schedule of daily commuter flights to and from LAX on United Express and to and from Phoenix and Las Vegas on America West. Interstate 5 links Carlsbad directly with San Diego to the South and Los Angeles to the North. Highway 78, the major east-west connection, runs from the coastline at the northern tip of Carlsbad to Blythe on the desert border of California and Arizona where it intersects Interstate 10. Amtrak has a station in Oceanside, a city adjoining Carlsbad to the north. It offers passengers a choice of regularly scheduled trains on the San Diego/Los Angeles Line. The Metrolink, a high-speed lightweight commuter train also uses the nearby Oceanside Transit Center.
